Today has be one of the most amazing days that I can remember! I could not sleep at all last night. I tossed and turned all night. This morning I photographed an amazing artist name Rodrigo Braga. Amazing shooting conditions and amazing shots! After the shoot Chico took us to a favela for lunch. This lunch was very huge and very very cheap and very delicious! This was nice. After this we went to the Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro (MAM). I was able to see prints of my favorite photographers Miguel Rio Branco. Such an amazing day. As we left I called an artist that was making a call on my behalf to a man named Gilberto Chateaubriand that I am trying to photograph and talk to while I'm here in Rio. Gilberto has the largest collection of art in Brazil over 7,000 pieces. My friend Bob had the best news I have received in a long time! Gilberto Chateaubriand agreed to meet with me and let me do a portrait and talk with him on Thursday morning at his house in Leblon! I had a wave of warmth consume my whole body while sitting in the car with the phone to my ear.
Thursday is going to be an amazing day. I get to photograph not only Gilberto Chateaubriand in the morning, but later in the afternoon I am meeting with a man named Wilton Montenegro at his house. Wilton is inviting 10-15 other contemporary artists of Rio to his house for this meeting that I will also be able to talk with and photograph! I am very excited VERY VERY EXCITED! Thank you so much Bob!
No matter how dark the path towards your dream seems put one foot in front of the other, hold your head high and your passion and heart will guide you.
